Get to know me!

Hi, I'm Abby. (Not Abigale, just Abby.)

Currently, I'm a full-time student at Tarleton State University. My major is in English with a concentration on technical writing and an accidental minor in Psychology. (Whoops.) I'm happily engaged to the love of my life, and we have one fur child together who is the light of our lives. I've always loved to read and write, and have always been fascinated with how the human brain functions; especially since I feel like I'm inevitably at a battle with my own all the time.

I wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until I was 19 years old on my second year of college. (And being really, really bad at college.)

It isn't unusual for girls to get through grade school without a diagnosis, and because I was such a bookworm it really didn't occur to anyone that my struggles stemmed from a cognitive learning disorder. I felt hopeless and like I didn't have control over my own mind, and my dreams felt far from my reach. Thankfully, research and a community of people who struggled with the same issues I did led to my diagnosis. And thus, the start of my journey with learning how to be my best self despite my obstacles.

I've learned ADHD really is my greatest power. It's the responsibility part that trips me up some times.

(Sorry, Uncle Ben.)

I have dreams of one day working as a Publisher, working with Authors, or being an Author myself. But lately, I've just been really passionate about reading and learning about my ADHD. How to get the most out of myself and life, my dreams and aspirations, and sharing a few (maybe relatable) laughs along the way.

Inside, I'm still that little girl hiding under the sheets with her flash light so that she can find out what happens in the next chapter. If you feel that way too -- stick around! You're in good company.

xoxo
